The majority of the 5 Star team are from a professional sports background and have played or worked in an elite environment with world leading professionals.

The team are passionate about what they do and we thought you may want to know a little more about them.

JAMIE FIELD

Jamie was a professional rugby league player for over 17 years, playing for Leeds Rhinos for four years before moving to Wakefield Wildcats for the next eight years. He then joined the championship leaders Featherstone Rovers for a further four years until 2010 when he announced his retirement from the game.

During his rugby career and whilst he was the strength and fitness conditioner for Wales RL National Team he worked with some of the best trainers and conditioners in the world. This has given him a vast amount of knowledge on training, nutrition and what it takes to help you achieve your goals.

As owner of 5 star Fitness since it began in 2004, he has worked with clients ranging from elite athletes to the clients who have never trained before. This wealth of experience means that Jamie will be able to design a program to help you achieve your goals no matter what they are.

Jamie not only gets great satisfaction from training himself, but gets a great sense of achievement in helping others improve their lives.

KENNY MILNE​

​Kenny, spent the majority of his footballing career playing in the Scottish Premier League for Hearts, Falkirk and Partick Thistle before moving to England and playing in the Championship for Scunthorpe United in 2008.

Kenny is a director alongside Jamie and works as a full time personal trainer. He has trained many clients with sports-specific needs, as well as those undergoing rehabilitation and seeking lifestyle changes.

CHRIS ANNAKIN

Chris is a current professional rugby league player for Dewsbury Rams and has been playing professional rugby for the past 10 years. At amateur level he represented service area, county and was involved in the England set up. Outside of rugby he enjoys boxing and has been training for 2 years and has had 10 fights.

At college he competed in Olympic lifts and placed second in the country. He has always had a big passion for training and fitness and is confident no matter what your goals may be he will be able to help you achieve them.

DARREN ELLIS

Darren is a level 3 qualified personal trainer with additional qualification in pre and post natal, kettlebells, spin and circuits. He is also a qualified nutritionist and can often be seen with his latest culinary creations in the gym! Darren played amateur rugby for 22 years and loves boxing, HIIT and has a keen interest in meditation. He is the life and soul of our group sessions with his lively and cheery manner! Darren’s sessions are always energetic and fun whilst still achieving maximum effort from his clients!

KARA GIBBONS

Kara is a level 3 personal trainer and sports nutritionist. A firm believer that exercise and nutrition are key components of both physical and mental health, Kara’s training and workouts will help you to become stronger, fitter, healthier and happier both inside and outside the gym. Kara is extremely passionate about her job and enjoys working with clients to build long term exercise and eating habits. Outside of the gym Kara is a mum of two, and is into reading, cooking, yoga and gin – but not in that order!

JACK MEEKS

Originally from Oxfordshire, Jack is a level 3 personal trainer and qualified MNU certified nutritionist. Having played a range of sports all his life from football, tennis and squash, health and fitness have always been an essential part of his life.

Jack is passionate about getting people feeling great, more mobile, stronger and generally happier. Jack also enjoys training hard, fitness events and socialising at the weekends. No stranger to Chris Brown-esque moves, you may also occasionally find him in the middle of the dance floor.
