Lee Wood
Sports Therapist
Lee comes from a Rugby League background having played at amateur and professional level for many years. He currently runs the Sports Therapy Department at Castleford Tigers RL and is part of the UK support team for the New Zealand Kiwis when they tour the UK.
Qualifications:
- Certificate in Sports Massage Therapy
- International Institute of Sports Therapy
Experience:
After retiring from competitive rugby, Lee continued his involvement in the game by working at Castleford Tigers as First Team masseur. He then spent time at Hull FC before returning to Tigers to run the Sports Therapy department full time. As well as providing treatment and rehabilitation during training, Lee assists the Physio and Doctor during match days. He is also part of the support team for the New Zealand Kiwis when they tour the UK and has worked with the USA national team the ‘Tomahawks’ in the RL World Cup.
Martyn McCormack
Sports Therapist
Martyn has worked in a variety of sports and is an instructor in Martial Arts having competed at national level. He has been involved in the care and rehabilitation of rugby players for many years progressing from amateur level to currently working for Castleford Tigers. He also forms part of the support team for the New Zealand Kiwis.

- Member Society of Sports Therapists
- Certificate in Education – Huddersfield University
Experience:
Martyn has recently retired from the Fire & Rescue Service where he specialised in Emergency Medical Care and Fitness Training. He has been involved with mixed martial arts for many years and worked with the British Muay Thai Boxing team at the World Championships in Thailand. Further valuable experience was gained touring with the GB Police RL team providing sports and medical care. As well as working in the Sports Therapy Department at Castleford Tigers he also part of the support team for New Zealand Kiwis and worked with the USA ‘Tomahawks’ in the RL World Cup. Martyn is currently working on the development of training courses for coaching staff in the emergency medical care of players at amateur level.
Sharon McCormack
Sports & Remedial Masseuse
Sharon is a former gymnast and martial artist who has a wide range of experience in many forms of complimentary and holistic treatments to add to her sports massage skills. She has worked in Rugby League and Union clubs and can also provide relaxation and stress management therapies to provide a holistic approach to treatments.

- Diploma in Remedial & Sports Massage
- Certificate in Holistic Massage
- Spiritual healing, Reiki
Experience:
Sharon has a wide range of skills and abilities to enable her to provide a holistic approach to treatments. Her sports background gives her the understanding of how injuries can cause frustration and stress, and her treatments can be tailored to the individual to give the best results. She is qualified in many complimentary therapies and is also a fully qualified beautician trained in permanent cosmetics as well as many other advanced treatments. Sharon is a qualified interpreter in British Sign Language and can provide invaluable communication support to hearing impaired clients.
